Not quite what we expected
Sorry to say that this disappointed. The perfume making was only to replicate their current season new scent, which my son and I didn’t actually like. Our guide was lovely and enthusiastic, but it ended up feeling like a ploy to sell us their perfume. The museum is small but beautiful, however. That is worth the time.
Something Different to do in Paris
Something different to do in Paris. Easy to book online, although a bit chaotic on arrival with lack of communication or assembly of the group. It’s a small lovely store near Printemps with a likeable tour guide and insights about perfume. However, non-tour patrons were allowed into the small tour room and spoke over our guide. Each attendee created a small sample, then led to the store for additional purchases with price tags beyond our budget. For the price, it was a brief experience but a bit overpriced.
It was OK but I wouldn't recommend.
I liked; The staff and guide were lovely and gracious, the setting was beautiful, the explanation of the production of perfume was informative, the museum had a wonderful collection, having the "how to use perfume" explained, not being pressured to purchase product. I did not like; overpriced for the content, I felt rushed through (10 extra minutes in the workshop would be helpful), the tour of the museum was good but I would have appreciated 5-10 minutes extra in each room after the guided explanation to look more closely at the collections, there was no seating available in the lobby (for my husband that did not take part in the workshop). Would I recommend this workshop? I would recommend with the caveat that it is expensive. That being said, thank you for providing a lovely museum and thank you to the staff.
