Time issue destroyed the fun
To be fair, it is still a special experience not available in other areas. The possibility to attend the activity in city center Nice is convenient for those who do not have enough time in Grasse. However, my personal experience was not so pleasant because time issues. For unexperienced customers, the advice from the teacher is crucial. The teacher would help to delete some flavors not going well with others and perhaps add other flavors to make the combination better. In this sense, the time each customer can be assisted by the teacher makes difference. In my session, in the beginning, the teacher helped the customers in the sequence of they finished their choices, which is totally ok. But when it came to my turn, the teacher intentionally skipped me and went to a family with kids. The teacher spent much time with them and I was left unattended until the class time expired. When the teacher finally came to to, she spent very little time on me and made almost no adjustment on my choices. She said my choices were good, but in that context I could not rule out the possibility that the real reason was she had no time for me. After class I asked the teacher why I was skipped, the answer was kid first and family would be all served before other customers can be helped. As a single adult customer who paid as much as anyone else, I felt I was discriminated. If "kids first, family first" is the policy, it should be disclosed so that single customers are fully aware before they decide attend the class.

We would like to provide some context regarding this group workshop. The group was small and the session was not fully booked, which allows each participant to explore the essences at their own pace. Classic workshops are designed as collective discovery experiences, encouraging interaction and sharing among participants. We are sorry that this aspect did not fully meet your expectations. It is normal that our expert left you a moment of independent olfaction. This step allows each participant to explore and select essences freely, without external influence. For the perfume formulation, the expert always starts with the participant who finished olfaction first to respect everyone’s rhythm. In your case, your perfume was created just after the family, and your choices were coherent and complementary, allowing the expert to quickly craft a harmonious composition. We understand that the explanation about the time given to the family may have been misunderstood. This was not discrimination, but a necessary organization within a group workshop, where time is shared among all participants. We note that the explanation could have been better communicated and will ensure this is improved in future sessions. Vous demandez des clients de quelle nationalité ils ont et si vous avez quatre allemand et vous avez une femme qui parle d’allemand, vous donnez le cours en français et la femme est là mais dit je vais faire ça mais elle n’est pas disponible. Alors ce n’était pas un plaisir.

Bonjour Irmgard, Merci beaucoup pour votre retour. Pour préciser, nos ateliers sont généralement proposés en français ou en anglais, en fonction des préférences et de la composition du groupe. Pour les autres langues, comme l’allemand, cette option est possible uniquement si l’expert parfum qui anime l’atelier parle la langue et est disponible. Dans le cas de votre atelier, cela n’était pas possible, c’est pourquoi l’atelier s’est déroulé en français, comme vous l’aviez indiqué à notre experte. Nos ateliers sont garantis dans deux langues principales, et les options supplémentaires dépendent de la disponibilité de nos experts. Not enough guidance in combining scents
I thought the instructor was very good, very informed, but I wish there had been some guidance on combining scents. We were told to pick our favorite scents, which I did, but since I was the only single person there, she helped me last and right before another session was starting. She was in a hurry. Then she told me my scents were too sweet and to select more…but again was in a hurry and didn’t give real suggestions. She came back and gave me a few options, but in the end the final product was not something I liked and I left it in France (and yes, I waited the week). I wish that we had been told, “if you like spicy, here are some combinations you may like”, “if you like floral, here is a good combo”, etc. I walked in hoping to discover my “signature scent” so when she said to select my favorite ones, I thought I was on the way to creating my perfect combination and instead felt defeated and chastised that I hadn’t chosen well and then very hurried to get out. No, I wouldn’t recommend, but I don’t regret it bc it was interesting to hear about the process.

Our expert is there to guide you throughout the process, but she must first ensure that you are comfortable with your choices so that your fragrance truly reflects your preferences. The idea is for each creation to be a genuine imprint of the individual, based on their own desires. Afterwards, our instructor adjusts the elements to achieve a balanced fragrance, but it is always based on what you have selected.
