1/2 Day: Cap Croisette, Calanques and islands

This excursion, located in the Calanques of Marseille in the Cap Croisette area, offers a quick overview of the Calanques. You'll circumnavigate Maïre Island. If you've never done "real" sea kayaking before, this is a great opportunity to try it.

  • Beginner: a kayaking trip accessible to all. Adults and children aged 14 and over
  • In a very small, intimate group.
  • An exclusive access to certain places by kayak, inaccessible on foot and far from the world.

On the programme

Explore the Calanques National Park by Sea Kayak.

Set off on an adventure! We'll take you by minibus behind the National Park's barriers. Embark from Maronnaise Beach or the port of Callelongue and sail towards the majestic Cap Croisette. Located in the Calanques National Park, this trip will immerse you in a breathtaking environment characterized by its limestone cliffs and secret coves.

An Unforgettable Journey:

During this excursion, you'll have the opportunity to explore the south of Maïre Island, where spectacular vertical profiles and a rich fauna await you. Observe nesting birds such as Alpine Swifts, Peregrine Falcons, and Gulls that enliven the skies in spring. From the water's surface, admire the Lithophyllum lichenoides pavement, a unique spectacle thanks to the lack of erosion. After touring the island, enjoy a swim at Cap Croisette Beach before heading back to our starting point.

Practical Information:

Raskas Kayak's Notes on Itineraries:

The weather, and more specifically wind direction and strength, plays a crucial role in determining the route selection. Although you have selected a specific itinerary, it may be adjusted depending on weather conditions. Our priority is to ensure the smooth running of your trip, even in unpredictable weather.

Therefore, rather than canceling a planned excursion, we systematically offer alternative itineraries, better protected from the prevailing winds, so that your "beginner-level" experience takes place in optimal conditions of safety and discovery.

The instructor, an expert on the site and qualified to assess the impact of natural elements on the environment, will present the available options to you. The final choice will be made collectively, in a democratic and friendly atmosphere!

Audience:

  • Groups of 6 to 12 participants, supervised by a state-certified canoe/kayak instructor.
  • Open to adults and children aged 14 and over (for younger children, see our family outings).

Difficulty:

Accessible to everyone, even beginners! No previous experience is required. This half-day trip is ideal for discovering the sensations of freedom in a kayak, while learning basic techniques. If you're athletic or have already practiced sea kayaking, opt for the full day, as it might not satisfy your desire to go very far!

Participation Requirements:

You must be able to swim comfortably, be able to submerge, and be in good health.
